What is available, and what we use

There is nothing to choose from yet. One dengue vaccine has Indian approval and it is not on sale.

What we will not gloss over

• This is a live attenuated vaccine. It is not suitable for people who are immunodeficient, on high-dose steroids, on immunosuppressive or biologic therapy, or who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Efficacy differs by previous dengue exposure. In people never previously infected, protection was demonstrated against two of the four dengue types, and not against a third.
• Well-controlled type 2 diabetes is not by itself a reason to avoid it.
