Children, newborn to adolescent
A child’s illness is rarely convenient. Most of what worries a parent is common, self-limiting and does not need a hospital, but working out which is which is the whole job, and it is not something to do from a search result at midnight.
Dr. Amreen sees children from the newborn period through adolescence, six evenings a week.
- Newborn checks, feeding difficulties and the first weeks
- Immunisation, on schedule or catching up if you have fallen behind
- Growth and development monitoring, with the measurements plotted and kept
- Fever, cough, cold, ear infections, diarrhoea and vomiting
- Asthma and recurrent chest infections
- Allergic rhinitis, skin rashes, anaemia and nutritional deficiency
- Adolescent health
On schedule, or catching up
Childhood vaccination in India is well organised, and we follow the national schedule. If your child has fallen behind (which happens, often for entirely ordinary reasons), bring whatever record you have and we will work out the catch-up rather than start again.

After 9 pm, and through the night
Dr. Amreen consults 3–9 pm. Outside those hours a primary care physician is on site (not on call from home, on site) and will see a child who cannot wait, start treatment, and speak to her if the case needs it. The laboratory and the pharmacy are in the same building and run 24 hours.
What we do not do
We have no paediatric intensive care and no neonatal ICU. A sick newborn, a child needing ventilation, or anything requiring intensive monitoring is stabilised here and moved without delay to a centre that has those facilities. We would rather move a child early than late.
A child who is unresponsive, having a seizure that will not stop, struggling to breathe, or badly injured needs an emergency department. Call 108, or go straight to the nearest hospital with emergency facilities.
